Tema for Accra and the roads, Takoradi for the mines and the west.
Ghana runs on three things that all need machines. Gold, which needs production sized excavators and loaders. Roads, which need rollers, graders and tippers. And building around Accra and Kumasi, which needs everything in between.
Tema is the default for Accra, the eastern regions and most road contracts. Takoradi is closer for the western mining belt and the oil and gas work, and using it can save a long and expensive inland haul.
Thirty tonne and larger excavators, five tonne class loaders and up, and tippers built for site work rather than road haulage. We hold Caterpillar 345GC and 349D excavators and a Komatsu WA500 loader for exactly this.
Single drum rollers for subgrade and base, tandem rollers for asphalt, a grader for setting out, and tippers. The single most expensive mistake in this trade is buying a tandem when the job needs a single drum.
China is normally the lower machine price and the deeper stock. Morocco arrives faster and can be inspected in person, which is worth the flight when the machine is a large one.
We issue the invoice, the packing list and the bill of lading before the vessel arrives, and your own agent clears at Tema or Takoradi. We do not publish Ghanaian duty rates because they change and a wrong number is expensive at the port.
What mining and road contractors in Ghana ask us.
Tema or Takoradi, with the machine you want. We reply with one landed figure and a real shipping time.
