Questions we are asked
What lifting contractors and site managers ask us before they order a crane.
Price and where to buy
Where can I buy a used truck crane?+
From a yard that owns its cranes and publishes the price. Ours stand in Qingdao with the capacity, the year and the figure on the page before you contact anybody.
How much does a used mobile crane cost?+
Ours are USD 93,000 for the fifty tonne machine and USD 143,000 for the hundred tonne, both FOB Qingdao. Capacity moves the price more than anything else.
How much is a used 50 ton crane?+
Our Sany STC500 is USD 93,000 as is. For a 2022 machine of that capacity that is well below what the equivalent costs new, which is the whole reason this trade exists.
How much is a used 100 ton crane?+
Our Sany STC1000C is USD 143,000 as is. A hundred tonne class crane only three years old at that figure is uncommon at any yard.
Where can I buy a cheap crane for construction?+
China, and directly from the yard. Cranes carry a heavy margin through a dealer because they are specialist equipment sold in small numbers.
What is the cheapest crane you have?+
The STC500 at USD 93,000. If you need less capacity than fifty tonnes, tell us the lift and we will source something smaller rather than sell you more crane than the job needs.
Choosing the right crane
Do I need a 50 ton or a 100 ton crane?+
Work out your heaviest lift and the distance you have to place it from the crane. If that combination is comfortably inside the fifty tonne chart, the smaller machine costs far less to buy and to move.
What size crane do I need to lift steel beams?+
It depends on the beam weight and how far into the building you are placing it. Send us both figures and we will tell you which machine covers it rather than guess.
What size crane do I need for precast concrete?+
Precast is heavy and usually placed at reach, which is where capacity falls away fastest. This is the work where buyers most often underestimate the crane they need.
Is a truck crane better than a crawler crane?+
For most construction work, yes. A truck crane drives itself to site and sets up in minutes. A crawler lifts more and works on soft ground, but it has to be transported and assembled.
Can a truck crane drive itself to the site?+
Yes, that is the point of it. It travels the public road under its own power, which removes the low loader and the mobilisation cost from every job.
Can you supply a Sany truck crane?+
Yes, we have two in stock now. Sany has built real service coverage across Africa, Asia and South America over the last decade, which matters on lifting equipment.
Buying and shipping
Can you source a crane I do not see listed?+
Yes. Tell us the heaviest lift and the radius you need rather than a model number, and we will find the right capacity across our network.
How much does it cost to ship a crane?+
Cranes are priced individually because of the weight and the length of the carrier, which put them outside standard rates. Give us your port and we will quote against the actual sailing.
How is a crane shipped to my country?+
On a bulk vessel. The boom is stowed and the counterweights are handled separately, and it is the one machine where the method is not a choice.
Are parts easy to find for a Sany crane?+
Reasonably. Sany parts come through the same network as their other machines, and the carrier underneath uses conventional commercial truck components.
Can I inspect a crane before I pay?+
Yes, and at these values we would want you to. Bring or appoint somebody who knows lifting gear, because they will check things a general inspector would not.
Can I buy a crane and an excavator together?+
Yes, and shipping them in one movement lowers the cost per machine. Tell us the combination and we will price the whole load.
