Shipping heavy equipment to North Africa

Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and Egypt, from either of our yards.

Omega Machines · Updated 27 September 2026

North Africa has serious infrastructure programmes running and a steady appetite for used equipment. Buyers here have a choice: machines from our Mohammedia yard already cleared and priced in dirhams, or machines from Qingdao priced in dollars and shipped in.

Ports we serve

Casablanca and Tanger Med in Morocco, Algiers and Oran in Algeria, Radès in Tunisia, and Alexandria and Damietta in Egypt.

Which origin suits you

If you are in Morocco, buying from Mohammedia is simplest: the douane is settled, you can inspect the machine yourself and there is nothing to ship. Everywhere else in the region, machines come from Qingdao, where the choice is far wider and the prices are lower.

Tanger Med is worth knowing about

It is one of the largest ports on the Mediterranean and extremely well connected, which sometimes makes it a better entry point than a smaller local port even when it is not the closest one to your site.

Questions we are asked

What buyers across North Africa ask about origin, ports and clearing.

Your route

Do you ship construction equipment to Egypt?+
Yes, to Alexandria or Damietta. Both are regular destinations and the machines come from Qingdao, where the choice and the prices are strongest.
Can you send machines to Algeria?+
Yes, to Algiers or Oran, shipped from our Qingdao yard. Tell us the port and the machine and we will quote both together.
Do you quote to Tunisia?+
Yes, to Radès. It is a straightforward destination and the machines come from China with the freight quoted alongside the machine price.
Which North African ports do you serve?+
Casablanca and Tanger Med, Algiers and Oran, Radès, and Alexandria and Damietta.

Choosing your origin

Should I buy from your Morocco yard or from China?+
If you are in Morocco, buy locally: the douane is settled, you can see the machine and there is nothing to ship. Elsewhere in North Africa, China gives you more choice and a lower machine price.
Is equipment cheaper from China than from within North Africa?+
Generally yes on the machine itself, because of the volume of stock coming out of China. Whether it wins overall depends on the freight to your particular port.
Can I see a machine before buying if I am in North Africa?+
If it is a Morocco machine, yes, come to Mohammedia. For China stock we send photographs and video, and you are welcome to appoint an inspector in Qingdao.
What is the advantage of Tanger Med?+
It is one of the best connected ports on the Mediterranean, so sailings are frequent and options are wide, which can outweigh the fact that it may not be your nearest port.

Practical matters

What machines are in demand in North Africa?+
Excavators and rollers for road and infrastructure programmes, loaders for quarry and aggregate work, and tipper trucks for haulage.
How long does shipping from China to North Africa take?+
It is a longer voyage than the Asian lanes and often routed through a Mediterranean hub. Give us your port and we will confirm the real timing for that service.
Who clears the machine in Egypt or Algeria?+
A licensed agent in your own country, appointed by you before the vessel arrives so clearance can start immediately and storage charges never begin.
Can you supply machines for a government contract?+
Yes, and contract sized orders are normal work for us. Tell us the specification and the quantity and we will source against it from either yard.

Tell us which machine and which port

Those two pieces of information are all we need in order to give you a real answer, and you will normally hear back from us on the same day.
